Layouts

Layouts

Layouts are pre-designed templates that make it easy to arrange images, text and decorative elements in your photo product. They are designed to simplify the design process and can be customised to suit your needs. To select a layout, click on the Layout button as follows:

  • For multipage photo products such as Photo Books and Calendars, you need to select a layout for each double page. To do this, select the desired page and click on the Layouts button.
  • For single photo products like Wall Art and Photo Posters, click the Edit design button to display the edit tools at the bottom, then click the Layouts button. For more information, read the App Designer article.

Layouts with text

To view layouts that contain text, you first need to add your desired text. Once text has been added, the layouts offered will include a text box.

Design Lines

Layouts are organised into Design lines, incorporating decorative elements based on a theme to create a visually consistent design. Within the Layout menu, you can select a Design line in the Layouts box at the top to display all the options.

You can filter the design lines by category by selecting an option from the Category box. Once a category is selected, the design lines from that category will be displayed for you to choose from. To select a design line, click on it. The displayed layouts will then update to show the selected design line and the available layout options.

Design Line Category

If you’re designing a multi-photo product such as a Photo Book or a Calendar, depending on the selected mode, you may need to select a Design line before opening the photo product in the designer. For more information, read the Photo Book, Calendar, or Cards article.

Favourite layouts

Below each layout, a heart icon is displayed. Clicking this icon will save the layout as a favourite. Favourite layouts will appear at the top of the column if the number of images selected in the Images per page box matches the number of images in the favourite layout.

If the Images per page field is set to Variable, favourite layouts will appear at the top of the Layout menu when the number of images already added to the photo product matches the number of images in the favourite layouts. For example, if you mark a layout with two image boxes as a favourite, this layout will appear first in the Layout menu when two images are added to the photo product.

If the Show only favourites box is ticked, only favourite layouts will be displayed.
