How do I convert a picture to black and white with the Saal Design Software?
Designer (for example, Photo Books)
In order to convert a colour image to black and white with the Saal Design Software, you must do the following:
- First, select the desired image inside the software
- Go to the upper menu and click Colour adjustments
- Choose one of the black and white filters, or adjust the saturation from 100 to 0 so you can then freely customise the outcome by tweaking the brightness and contrast
Please, note that we strongly recommend that one of our RGB colour profiles is embedded in the image to avoid an unwanted outcome in the final product.
You can find more information here, where we show you how to set the same RGB values to avoid colour hues or casts.
Bulk orderer (for example, Photo Prints)
If you are ordering products via the bulk orderer, for example, for Photo Prints, you can also convert the images to black and white:
- Place your image(s) in the "Drag photos here" area
- Double click on the desired image or click on the tool icon that appears underneath the image when you hover the mouse on it
- Choose one of the black and white filters, or adjust the saturation from 100 to 0 so you can then freely customise the outcome by tweaking the brightness and contrast

- Then, click on "Save" in the bottom right corner
- Your image has been successfully converted!
